About the club

More than five decades of Weimaraner history.

DVWC grew from the earliest Mid-Atlantic Weimaraner community and was incorporated in 1972.

Our history

The history of the Delaware Valley Weimaraner Club starts with the earliest importation of Weimaraners to the United States and the formation of the Weimaraner Club of America. The AKC recognized the Weimaraner in December 1942, and the first breed standard was accepted in 1943.

For many years our area was part of the WCA Mid-Atlantic Region. As interest and participation grew, local enthusiasts formed what became the Delaware Valley Weimaraner Club. The Club was incorporated in 1972 and has continued to support the breed through field, show, performance, education, rescue, and social activities.

What we stand for

DVWC exists to advance the Weimaraner breed, promote responsible ownership, host events open to members and non-members, share knowledge and experience, encourage good sportsmanship, and create opportunities for people to enjoy their dogs.
